Professor Joonhong Ahn, Faculty Scientist in the Earth Sciences Division at LBNL, member of the IRC leadership team, and Professor in the Department of Nuclear Engineering at UC Berkeley, is hosting the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) and UCB Center for Japanese Studies (CJS) International Symposium on “Perspectives on 70 Years of the Nuclear Age, from Berkeley, A Birthplace of the Atomic Bomb,” this week on September 30th and October 1st in Berkeley, CA.
IRC Director, Kai Vetter, will be moderating a panel on the morning of October 1st on the “Impacts on Humans” of advancements in nuclear technology and fallout from nuclear weapons use. His panel will also feature another member of the IRC leadership team, Sylvain Costes, Staff Scientist in the Life Sciences Division at LBNL, who will share his insights on, “The DOE Low Dose Program at the Berkeley Laboratory: Where We Are and Future Directions.”
