Earth Sciences Talk on the Implications of the Fukushima Accident

Robert J. Budnitz of the Earth Sciences Division will give a talk on Friday, June 24 at 10:30 a.m. on “The Fukushima Nuclear Reactor Accident: What Happened and What Does It Mean?” The lecture will take place in the Building 66 Auditorium. Budnitz will describe (technically, but in lay terms) what happened at the Fukushima reactors during and after the disastrous March 11 earthquake and tsunami, what the path forward seems to be as well as the potential implications these events might have on the future of nuclear power in general. The presentation is sponsored by the Earth Sciences Division as part of its Distinguished Lecture series.
