David Shuh is a Senior Staff Scientist in the Chemical Sciences Division at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory and a co-Principal Investigator on a National Institutes of Health Grand Opportunity award for the development of actinide decorporation agents. His research focuses on actinide and rare earth elements with an emphasis on the transuranic elements. He is an expert in the use of synchrotron radiation techniques to explore the chemistry of actinides and rare earth elements, and his interests include determining the behavior of f-electrons to understand their electronic structure and chemistry. Dr. Shuh’s research is supported by the U.S. Department of Energy’s Office of Science Basic Energy Sciences and the Office of Biological and Environmental Research.
